After relocating from out of state, our homeowner wanted to improve the functionality of her kitchen, while updating it to reflect her personality and style. A built-in desk area was removed, and new cabinets were built to match those existing. This small change provided big storage gains and a cleaner look. The dark perimeter cabinets were repaired where necessary, and painted Sherwin Williams “City Loft”. A bookcase was removed from the island to accommodate an overhang for bar stools. The island was then painted Sherwin Williams “Attitude Gray”. The generous walk-in pantry addition allowed us to enlarge the breakfast nook slightly to give more space around the table, and to add a small day pantry for on-hand storage. New granite countertops, plumbing fixtures, a decorative tile backsplash, and new cabinet hardware brought light and life to this once dark space.
