This dark center-townhome kitchen was outdated and closed off from the rest of the house. The lack of counter space made it difficult to function. We reconfigured the layout, which allowed us to completely open up the wall between the kitchen and dining room. Two large islands serve as seating, storage, and prep spaces. One of the islands also doubles as service for the dining room, eliminating the need for a bulky sideboard. Walnut cabinets and marble countertops lend traditional charm to this updated kitchen and the new open floor plan offers the perfect space for entertaining.
