This stunning kitchen transformation in Wake Forest illustrates how strategic structural changes can completely redefine a home’s flow and aesthetic. By removing the bulky peninsula, island, and the original range “cave,” the design team successfully eliminated the visual barriers that once made the kitchen feel secluded and heavy, instantly opening clear sightlines to the living and entertainment areas.

The original workspace was replaced with a large central island that now serves as the room’s centerpiece, featuring a sleek waterfall-edge quartzite countertop, a farmhouse sink, and a secondary bar sink for effortless hosting. To increase functionality while maintaining a sense of privacy, the former drop station was reimagined as a built-in storage zone with floor-to-ceiling cabinetry and hidden appliance garages to keep the countertops clutter-free.

Finished with new LVP flooring that runs seamlessly throughout the first floor and complemented by a crisp color palette, the once-shadowy kitchen has been re-envisioned as a bright, airy, and modern heart of the home.
